Hello!
I am a reading tutor with an eclectic past. Having taught in the school system, substituted,­ homeschooled­ my children, and tutored reading, I have amassed over thirty years of teaching experience! I feel, because of this, that I am a successful reading tutor and have many references available.
I offer one-on-one individualized­ instruction in my cozy home classroom. In addition to my certifications­ in Special Ed. and Elementary Ed., I am a certified Orton-Gillingham­ instructor with experience using Wilson, Project Read, Writing Road to Reading, and Lindamood Bell. I teach in a multisensory­ manner, ensuring that each student's learning style will be used to strengthen their weak areas. Lessons are lively, incorporating­ color, kinesthetics,­ sound and manipulatives­ to pinpoint exactly what each student needs to reach their goal - to be able to read and spell with accuracy.
